The Evansville Art Center, downtown Evansville, will host its monthly First Friday Concert on June 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Featured musicians are Tim Ray and Craig Torgerson. Enjoy the variety of songs and guitar music by these local area artists. Feel free to bring a favorite treat for the refreshment table.

Ray hails from Barrett and has been singing since high school, where he was influenced by a music educator, John Moriarity. He first picked up a guitar and attempted to learn three chords around 1975, and has been trying to learn a few more chords ever since.

Tim's most favorite places to play have been the yearly Discstock Music/Disc Golf event at their home, Sumac Hills and the monthly 3rd Thursday open microphone events at Evansville Arts Center.

Torgerson has been plucking on the guitar for more than 35 years. He enjoys playing a mix of genres from gospel, contemporary pop and acoustic rock, but leans more toward country. His song list spans from the 1950s to today.

He has entertained at numerous events throughout the area. He has finally joined the ranks of song writers with a couple of originals that he has performed at local open mics.
