Local Easter events offer great family fun

On Saturday, April 7 there are two popular events taking place - Osakis Kids Easter Day and Erickson's Petting Zoo Easter Egg Hunt.

Kids Easter Day

From 10 a.m. to noon, families are welcome to take part in the annual Osakis Kids Easter Day at Osakis Community Center.

The festive event is free and includes an egg hunt, crafts, balloons, games and prizes, treats and a special opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.

Organizers are looking for volunteers to set-up, help during the event and clean up. If you're available to help, contact Lil Ortendahl at (320) 859-4426 or

Easter Egg Hunt

Erickson's Petting Zoo will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their farm, located at 11890 Hope Road, just west of Osakis.

Admission is $5 per person (no charge for children 1-year-old and younger).

Admission includes entry to the petting zoo and participation in the egg hunt. Each child taking part in the egg hunt will get a basket - staff asks that you do not bring your own basket or plastic bag. There is a limit of one basket per child. If the weather isn't the best, be sure to wear boots.
