Evansville Arts Coalition to host photography exhibit

The Evansville Arts Coalition is hosting a photography exhibit March 2 through April 28. This photo of a chicken coop was taken by Claudine Grove, a member of Evansville Art Center's 1st Thursday Photo Club. Contributed photo.

The Evansville Arts Coalition (EAC) will open for the 2012 season with its annual photography exhibit at the Evansville Art Center.

The exhibit will run from Friday, March 2 through Saturday, April 28. Gallery and Free Book Lending Library hours for March 2 through November 17 will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays or by special appointment.

EAC is looking for area photographers to exhibit their photos. Each photo must be framed and ready for wall hanging in at least a 5x7 inch frame, but no larger than 18x24 inches.

Artists may enter a maximum of five photos that have not been in any prior EAC exhibits. Photographs may be of any subject, may be black and white or color and must be taken by the artist entering them.

The EAC Photo Club will determine if photographs are appropriate for all audiences and will hang the display. Photos may be for sale. The artist determines the price, but the EAC retains a 30 percent commission per sale. Put your name, phone number and price, if for sale, on the back of each photo.

If interested in displaying photographs, contact Mark Weise at (320) 815-3699.

Photos can be delivered to Evansville Hardware at 119 Main Street from February 23-29.

EAC is supported in part by the Lake Region Arts Council through a Minnesota legislative appropriation along with other local grants.
