Community conversation pays tribute to veterans

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:


Sherlock Holmes arrested for murder? Find out at LAT on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m.

In The Case of the Dead Adventuress, Holmes and Watson are in Nice, France enjoying the Riviera when they are approached by a young Englishman asking for help in retrieving a gift from a notorious French woman.

The show is directed by Ann Hermes and stars Quincy Roers, Kevin Lee, Mary Pohl, Lonnie Wing, Kip Sundlee, Bruce Wegner, Paul Schoenack and Jim Statz. Sound effects are by Bruce Wegner with Bob Piotrowski providing the music.

Tune in Sunday, November 6 at 12:30 p.m. on KXRA 1490 AM as LAT presents a show in honor of Veterans Day.

This show is a community conversation that honors service people and veterans. Joe Korkowski serves as moderator as stories are told by Paulette Friday, Lonnie Barnes, Anje Williams and Sam Williams. Bev Bales talks about the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon initiative, which helps the families of deployed service people with life at home. The show features area singer/songwriter Ciara Drexler's original Civilian's Song, with Matt Seickert on guitar.
