Fitness classes scheduled
Community Education in Alexandria is offering the following health and fitness classes. All will be held at the Nelson Wellness Center in Alexandria.
Yoga for zestful living is Monday, January 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. YOGAjoy instructors will teach about yoga and its health benefits. Class is for men and women 18 and older; cost is $19.
Sign Chi Do is Wednesdays, January 13 through March 31 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sign Chi Do harmonizes sign gestures, breath and movement to attain a true state of relaxation. Reduce stress, improve memory and concentration, build and strengthen muscle and promote a holistic sense of well-being. All fitness levels and all ages welcome. Cost is $59.
In boot camp, learn exercises designed to challenge your strength and endurance. Trainer Scott Grabowska will share physical tips from his six years in the U.S. National Guard. Workouts resemble military-style basic training. Work the entire body - heart and muscles - by going from one exercise to another. All fitness levels and ages welcome. Class is Wednesdays, January 13 to March 31 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $59.
