Letter - Enough distractions on the street

To the editor:

We keep reading and hearing about all the concern regarding distracted driving because so many people are using cell phones and texting while behind the wheel.

There are police related consequences for people who do this and are caught. Does anyone find it foolish and contradictory to allow rotating advertisements on billboards like the one at the corner of 3rd and Nokomis? How about the trucks traveling around town that display rotating advertising on their side and back panels?

Makes no sense to me. It does not contribute to safety on the road. There are enough distractions out there without adding these.
