Murder charges reinstated in 2013 stabbing

Letter - It's time to celebrate volunteers

To the editor:

During the week of April 19-25, we will be celebrating Volunteer Week at Central Minnesota Elder Network. This past year our volunteers provided a total of 5,056 service hours and served 252 clients.

We want to take this opportunity to thank our 274 volunteers for their hard work. You are the heart and soul of our community: a comforting hand to hold, the gentle reassurance that everything is going to be all right, the source of knowledge when things become confusing and a friend when many other friends have passed on. We appreciate you.

Thank you for fulfilling our mission to provide emotional, social, respite care, chore and transportation services to the elderly in Douglas County. Because of you, our clients have been able to remain safe and independent in their own homes longer. Thank you, volunteers, for being the special people that you are.

Terri Steidl, care team coordinator; Judy Peterson, respite coordinator; Jill Jacobson, peer support coordinator; Julie Sterk, T-care coordinator
