The Alexandria YMCA’s fundraising campaign for a major expansion project is off and running.
The J.A. Wedum Foundation in Minneapolis recently awarded a $500,000 matching grant to the YMCA to help build an 8,000-square-foot addition, which will bring the total square footage of the facility to 64,000 square feet.

The Alexandria YMCA will host a Root Beer Float Social on Thursday, June 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the YMCA, in conjunction with Member Appreciation Week and its Phase II Capital Campaign expansion project.
An expansion plan is in the works for the Alexandria YMCA.

The campaign is a scholarship program that subsidizes Y programs and membership for kids and families that may not be able to afford a Y experience.
