Grassroots government needs a little tending Tuesday. It’s township election time.
Eighteen of the 20 townships in Douglas County will hold elections and annual meetings on Tuesday, March 12. Brandon and Miltona townships hold their elections in the fall but will still have meetings.
They came and they voted. Some in droves, others in small percentages – very small percentages. Township elections took place Tuesday, March 9 in 19 of the 20 townships within Douglas County. (Brandon Township holds its township elections during the November election.)
Two more Douglas County townships have decided to drop out of the Central Lakes Region Sanitary District. Supervisors for both LaGrand and Moe Townships voted unanimously Monday to withdraw from CLRSD.
