Englund completes epic journey to fight stroke
Monday, September 10 was the first day of National Stroke Week and the day Dan Englund completed an epic 1,000 km running journey. That journey, a personal best, saw Dan raise more than $40,000 for the National Stroke Foundation and raise unparalleled awareness of stroke – its causes, prevention and treatment – in more than 20 rural communities in Queensland.

Stroke survivor is in for a long run down under
Every 45 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke, which accounts for 795,000 victims each year.
While anyone can have a stroke, some factors can increase the risk, such as smoking, an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, ethnicity, and family history of strokes.
It is also estimated that only 28 percent of stroke victims are younger than age 65.
