The crisp, wintry weather may have some believing the holiday season is here, but this Friday, November 28, residents are invited to officially let the spirit of the season begin with the annual Christmas in the Fort event.
Christmas in the Fort, which includes the annual lighting ceremony of downtown Alexandria, will take place in Fort Alexandria at the Runestone Museum.
A small group of parents is looking for input from residents, educators and other parents about the possibility of starting a new charter school in Alexandria.
The charter school would be for students in grades first through sixth who have disabilities – physical, mental or emotional.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has been awarded $2 million from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration to build the entrepreneurial skills of dislocated workers age 50 and older.
