History lives on in Kensington
Many vestiges of our area’s past are gone forever. Historic buildings have been torn down, burned or fallen down. Main street businesses have either disappeared entirely or changed from pioneer to more modern functions. Some old structures have taken on new purposes because most in their original form would be impractical in the 21st century.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Alexandria on Friday, November 25 to share in the fun at the annual Christmas in the Fort event at the Runestone Museum’s Fort Alexandria.
The gates will open for the free event at 3 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by horse and carriage at 3:15 p.m. They will travel down Broadway from 7th Avenue.
