Brandon Township elections are held in November in conjunction with the general election on November 6. The three positions on the ballot up for election in 2012 are for two supervisors and a treasurer. All are four-year terms.
United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties recently added three new members to the United Way Board: Bill Finley, Kellie Janssen and Becky Zwilling.
Finley, the CFO at Tastefully Simple, has previously served on United Way’s board. He has also been active in and served on other boards involving AAHA, GAIN, Alexandria Area Community and Technical College, District 206 and St. Mary’s Church.
Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County (HFHDC) recently elected three new board members: Chad Coauette, Julie Critz and Mark Deterding. The board also elected officers: Jan Finazzo, president; Irene Vagle, vice president; Chris Worley, treasurer; Marie Anderson, secretary.
Douglas County could be in for an overhaul this fall – all five commissioners’ seats have been put on the 2012 ticket.
Before the federally mandated redistricting was implemented this spring, only two commissioners were expected to file this year – Bev Bales and Jerry Johnson.
The results are in for the 2012 township elections.
While a lot of familiar faces will maintain their posts, some new candidates beat the odds. A vote passed in Miltona will change upcoming election dates from spring to fall.
The results are in for all the Douglas County townships that held elections Tuesday.
There were a few close races – one vote was the difference in Urness Township – and some interesting write-in results.
