A key legislator wants to crack down on Minnesota charter school-related organizations that build schools with public money but without public oversight.

Charter TV, a leading broadband communications company, is adding 27 new high definition (HD) channels for customers with HD service in the Alexandria area on June 20.
These additions are part of the evolution of Charter, which includes a growing number of HD channels and on demand choices, 3D, mobile apps, online programming and more.
When there’s a room full of lobbyists and a busy senator only has a few minutes, it’s hard to be heard. Lakes Area Charter School students experienced that feeling firsthand and met the challenge head on during a recent visit to the Minnesota State Capitol.
Charter Cable and Rural Media Group, Inc. report that RFD-TV, the 24-hour television network dedicated to serving the needs and interests of rural America, is now available on Charter digital channel 138 throughout Minnesota.
A small group of parents is looking for input from residents, educators and other parents about the possibility of starting a new charter school in Alexandria.
The charter school would be for students in grades first through sixth who have disabilities – physical, mental or emotional.
