JHS Math League begins season with first place win 
The Jefferson High School (JHS) Math League team finished in first place with 64 points at its first meet on Monday, November 7.
The team competed against Bemidji, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Breckenridge, Thief River Falls, Moorhead and Roseau.
Alexandria’s top individual scorer for this meet was Ben Tollefson with eight points. He was followed closely by Kalli Bowser, Ted Deitz and Will Sieling who each scored seven points.

Awesome aprons workshop offered to youth grades 5 and up 
The Douglas County Historical Society (DCHS) and Douglas County 4-H will offer a hands-on workshop where participants will sew an apron and learn the history behind aprons.
The workshop is Tuesday and Wednesday, November 15 and 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DCHS, 1210 Nokomis in Alexandria.
