JHS math league earns another 2nd place finish 
The Jefferson High School (JHS) Math League had its third meet of the season on Monday, December 19.
Alexandria finished in second place with 73 points behind Bemidji with a score of 77. The other teams that competed in the meet were Detroit Lakes, Breckenridge, Thief River Falls, Fergus Falls, Roseau, Moorhead.

Area students compete in Stock Market Game 
This fall, students at Lincoln, Voyager, Woodland, Carlos, Garfield and Miltona elementary schools competed in The Stock Market Game (SMG).
The national interactive educational tool is used in grades 4-12 to supplement subjects such as math, social studies and business education, while fulfilling Minnesota graduation standards.

Iverson, Deitz recognized for leadership skills 
Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria has nominated Shelby Iverson and Ted Deitz for the Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership (ExCEL) award.
ExCEL is a recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors. Students who are active in fine arts and/or athletic activities who show leadership qualities and who are model citizens in their community are eligible.

The Jefferson High School (JHS) Math League had its second meet of the season on Monday, November 28.
Alexandria finished in second place behind Bemidji. The teams placed and scored as follows: Bemidji (56), Alexandria (46), Fergus Falls (40), Detroit Lakes (39), Moorhead (34), Breckenridge (28), Thief River Falls (27), and Roseau (12).
