Despite a cold, snowy start to spring, summer is just around the corner and your children likely have several activities to keep them busy. The Minnesota Department of Revenue wants to remind parents that some activities, like academic camps, dance lessons, and summer tutoring, could qualify for a valuable K-12 tax credit on their 2013 Minnesota return.
March 15 is the tax filing deadline for S corps with fiscal year ending December 31. S corps are “flow-through” entities, meaning the corporation is not taxed, but instead the owners are taxed while reaping the legal benefits of incorporation.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue recently released the 2013 Tax Incidence Study based on tax year 2010 data and November 2012 forecast.
The study is a measure of overall burden, or effective rate, of Minnesota’s state and local taxes based on income levels.
Minnesota Department of Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans announced this week that in 2013, taxpayers will pay a 3 percent interest rate on delinquent state tax payments. This rate has remained the same since 2010.
