Alexandria Discovery Middle School (DMS) students involved in the school’s Heatwave Club took first place at the 21st annual Minnesota Renewable Energy Society’s (MRES) Solar Boat Regatta. This was the second year in a row that a DMS team has captured the first place honor.
The new high school in Alexandria will not only establish a modern education campus, but also a whole new, innovative learning program too.
Alexandria School District 206 will introduce learning academies at Alexandria Area High School, beginning in the fall of 2014.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation today announced the recipients of $3.8 million in federal grants for Safe Routes to School. The grants will support Safe Routes to School at 105 schools in 61 communities.
The Alexandria Area Tennis Association (AATA), in partnership with School District 206, has received two grants for acrylic tennis court surfacing of the new Alexandria Area High School’s 12-court tennis complex.
The Alexandria Technical and Community College Foundation opted for a change in scenery this year for its annual luncheon held in Alexandria last Friday afternoon.
