The Otto Bremer Foundation, majority owner of Bremer Bank, awarded $52,332 to West Central Dental Resources, Inc. dba Caring Hands Dental Clinic, based in Alexandria. The funds will be used to provide equipment for this dental clinic that serves low income children and adults.
The Otto Bremer Foundation, majority owner of Bremer Bank, awarded $20,000 to The Salvation Army in Alexandria. The funds will be used to support emergency assistance programs of The Salvation Army in Alexandria and Douglas County communities.

The J.A. Wedum Foundation in Minneapolis has awarded a $500,000 matching grant to the Alexandria YMCA to help build an 8,000-square-foot addition, which will bring the total square footage to 64,000 square feet.

In 2012 alone, it is estimated that 226,000 more women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 39,000 will die from it.
