Cardinal 8th grader Bethany Hasz fought her way to a sixth place finish at the seven-state Nike Cross Nationals Heartland championship race in Sioux Falls, South Dakota last weekend, racing to an 18:26.3, less than a second from advancing to the national event in Portland, Oregon.
Alexandria will send two girls to the State Class AA cross country meet Saturday as sophomore Jamie Piepenburg and senior Chelsey Richardson finished seventh and ninth respectively at the Section 8AA meet in Little Falls last Thursday.
