Library's used books sale moves to new location 
The annual Friends of the Library used book sale is coming up soon, Thursday, August 6. The biggest news about the sale this year is the change of location.

School is out and the library is busy! We have the summer reading program, lunch bunch, and pre-school story hours for children all happening at the library.

Library events planned 
The Douglas County Library’s summer reading program started Monday, June 15. It’s open to kids of all ages.
Children are invited to come in, check out books and pick up a new prize each week at the children’s desk through the end of July.

Author visits Alexandria 
We had a very successful day with Minnesota writer Mary Casanova. She visited the Senior College Program at Alexandria Technical College, (ATC), visited St. Mary’s School and gave two programs at the library.

The Douglas County Friends of the Library will host two separate events with award-winning author Mary Casanova on Thursday, May 14 at the meeting room of the Douglas County Library

The Douglas County Library Friends and Foundation will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room.

Book expert to speak at library 
The Douglas County Library Friends and Foundation will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room. The speaker is an antiquarian book expert and owner of Cambridge Books. Membership in the Friends of the Library is required to attend. Membership is $10 for individuals and $15 for families.
