And she’ll have plenty of time to do it now. This Friday is her last day of work as the librarian of the Douglas County Public Library.

Library's used books sale moves to new location
The annual Friends of the Library used book sale is coming up soon, Thursday, August 6. The biggest news about the sale this year is the change of location.

School is out and the library is busy! We have the summer reading program, lunch bunch, and pre-school story hours for children all happening at the library.

Library events planned
The Douglas County Library’s summer reading program started Monday, June 15. It’s open to kids of all ages.
Children are invited to come in, check out books and pick up a new prize each week at the children’s desk through the end of July.

Author visits Alexandria
We had a very successful day with Minnesota writer Mary Casanova. She visited the Senior College Program at Alexandria Technical College, (ATC), visited St. Mary’s School and gave two programs at the library.

Book expert to speak at library
The Douglas County Library Friends and Foundation will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. in the library’s large meeting room. The speaker is an antiquarian book expert and owner of Cambridge Books. Membership in the Friends of the Library is required to attend. Membership is $10 for individuals and $15 for families. Cookbook sale raises funds to support county library
The recent Friends of the Library used cookbook sale was a huge success. The Friends made $1,400 on the sale and the money will be used to support the library.
