They were milking 90 cows in a tie-stall barn and cropping 300 acres near the south-central Minnesota community of Watertown. Some might say it was a family-farming dream come true.

The flooding – thought by many officials to be the worst flash flood in more than a century – tore up roadways, drowned zoo animals, damaged houses and trapped thousands of people in their homes – two of which were Alan and Linda Johnson.

Every 45 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke, which accounts for 795,000 victims each year. While anyone can have a stroke, some factors can increase the risk, such as smoking, an unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, ethnicity, and family history of strokes. It is also estimated that only 28 percent of stroke victims are younger than age 65.
