VIDEO: Saluting soldiers' sacrifices
Veterans come from all walks of life. They’re ordinary people living ordinary lives who are asked to do extraordinary things for their country. Our Turn: Donkeys, elephants, monkeys and weasels, are you playing political musical chairs?
Who will you vote for when the music stops? I just wrapped up coverage of the League of Women Voters Douglas County commissioner candidate forum. It took forever. Forum Communications Editorial - Vote Romney to move nation ahead
There’s little argument President Obama has been aggressive, bold and willing to take chances in the name of returning our nation to a place of prosperity and security. Recall his stimulus bills, the bailouts, the Affordable Care Act and even the daring mission that took out Osama bin Laden.

In the mid-to-late 1950s, hometown buddies LeRoy, Monte Edmandson and Bob formed a band called The Golden Chords. They played often in the garage of Bob’s home on 7th Street, a stone’s throw from the high school. The trio was often on a mission. That was Bob’s word for doing something cool.

Gildea claims experience; Griffith wants public vote
Lorie Gildea campaigns on her record of Minnesota chief justice, telling voters she helped get more court funding and that she makes decisions based on the law, not her feelings.
