Election Day is Tuesday, November 6 and most polling places in Douglas County will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The only exceptions are in Lund Township, where polls will open at 9 a.m. and Solem Township, which has a 10 a.m. opening.

If the Carlos fifth and sixth graders had travelled 750 miles straight south from Carlos, they would have ended up somewhere in southern Oklahoma or Arkansas. Instead, from September 19-21, the 45 students logged 750 miles in a loop around southeastern Minnesota, where they discovered the geological diversity that exists in the state.

Stomp for a Cause raises $1,700
Carlos Creek Winery held its inaugural Stomp for a Cause fundraiser as part of this year’s Grape Stomp and Fall Festival. Carlos Creek donated all the fees they collected for teams registering to stomp grapes on Sunday to this year’s Stomp for a Cause recipient, Alexandria Area Arts Association (AAAA).
