Seven Douglas County families can resume their lives as usual without fear they are losing a source of income. Douglas County commissioners voted on whether or not to turn the license bureau service over to the state at Tuesday’s meeting. In a three-to-two vote, the motion failed.

Two candlelight ski, snowshoe and hiking events are scheduled to take place at Lake Carlos State Park this winter, according to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The events are planned for Saturdays, January 19 and February 23 from 6 to 9 p.m.
