It's Our Turn: O' Silent Night, non-denominational night
Do we all have to celebrate the same holiday to have a happy one? You can’t say Merry Christmas. You can’t pledge allegiance to the flag. You can’t pray in school. Well, in most cases those instances are becoming unacceptable by “society’s” standards. But, whose society?

Letter - God-free and moral-free zones put most vulnerable victims at risk
The sign read: “Sandy Hook Elementary School...Visitors Welcome.” Clearly, the visitor who arrived armed to the teeth and bent on destroying as many lives as possible before ending his own was not a welcome visitor.

It's Our Turn: I'm grateful for my cancer journey
The doctor called this week and said, “You’re clear, no more cancer.” After hearing news like that, you’d think I’d be walking on clouds and sharing wise, cotton-candy-sweet sentiments. But something else has settled into my heart – it’s a strange mix of denial, guilt, relief, humbleness, and a sense of being lost.

Letter - Our veterans deserve total coverage for all their needs
Has this nation no shame? After refusing to raise taxes for the wars in the Mideast, our wounded veterans come home with lifelong injuries, and it is necessary to form charitable organizations such as Wounded Warriors to care for their very dire needs.

Eagle rescue: a tale of faith and healing
A walk in the woods last month changed the lives of three Osakis area residents and saved a majestic creature. On October 23, Ken Johnson was out in the woods near his home preparing for deer hunting season when he looked up and there, only six feet away, a bald eagle sat on a pile of logs. The bird jumped around, but obviously couldn’t fly.
