Now it’s time for the candidates in Douglas County commissioner District 4 to have their say. WHERE IS DISTRICT 4? Douglas County District 4 includes Alexandria Township and parts of the city of Alex-andria – Ward 1, precinct 2 and Ward 2. To help voters reach a more informed decision for the primary election on August 12, the Echo Press mailed questionnaires to the commissioner candidates. While county spending continues to be a major concern, I’m urging voters to support Bill Dropik for District 4 Commissioner. Knowing Bill nearly my entire life, I know him to be a hard working, honest, conservative individual. Others who know Bill will agree he would have a strong voice for taxpayers on the county board.

Two challengers defeated incumbents in Douglas County commissioner races Tuesday. In District 2, Jim Stratton edged Norm Salto by a margin of 2,109 to 1,867, and in District 4, Charlie Meyer prevailed over Paul C. Anderson, 2,157 to 1,697. The incumbents in the three other commissioner districts were re-elected.
