The Ribfest is back. At its meeting Monday night, the Alexandria City Council approved plans for the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s Ribfest during Awake the Lakes on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-27.

Cancer relay raises $105,000
Under a clear, starry night on July 13 and 14, about 700 people gathered at Citizen’s Field in Alexandria to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Douglas County. The event began at 6 p.m. on Friday night and ran until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
