  • Recently, nine students in grades 4-7 spent the week learning how to sew at a community education class taught by Jodi Hintzen, the Douglas County Extension 4-H Program coordinator. The participants learned how to sew and quilt a lap-sized rag quilt and were willing to continue sewing even when they had personally completed their own project. All nine participants came back for the final class period to make baby quilts that will be donated to a local charity. Class participants worked individually or in pairs. (Contributed photo)
