  • For the second time in three weeks, fire broke out at 823 Kenwood Street in Alexandria. The house was boarded up, no one was living there and, at this time, Alexandria Fire Chief Jeff Karrow called the fire “very suspicious in nature.”<br /><br /><br /><br />Contributed photo.

  • The 7th and 8th grade math team from Discovery Middle School in Alexandria (above) finished its season in 2nd place. The top individual scorers were Matthew Bittmann and Jake Wheeler (pictured to left). All team members are listed in the article.
  • The 9th grade math team also finished its season in 2nd place. Team members include (left to right) Halley Score, Eric Branch, Tyler Kay, Kyle Pietrowski, Carl Branch and Cody Weisel (pictured at bottom left of page). Eric Branch finished the season in the West Central Division in 5th place, Carl Branch was 7th and Weisel was 8th.
