Helen was born July 29, 1927 in Alexandria, the daughter of Edwin J. and Hazel (Brown) Barros. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1945.

Helen was united in marriage to Raymond Henriksen on July 14, 1946. To this union, three sons were born, Don, Gary and Alan. The family resided throughout Minnesota and Helen worked for several different companies as a bookkeeper. When the boys were young, she also taught Sunday school and was a den mother of their Cub Scout troops. The couple enjoyed 11 winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they made many lifelong friends.

Some of her hobbies included playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and reading. She loved holiday gatherings with family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, Donald (Kathy) of Bismarck, ND, Gary of Lakeville, and Alan (Shannon) of Zimmerman; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held held Monday, November 12 at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Greg Billberg officiating. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Matthew, Kimberly, Shelby, Justin, Jake, Jeremy, Will and Christopher Henriksen. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria.
