He was born March 1, 1938 to Elden and Gladys (Petermann) Marti in Sleepy Eye. Warren graduated from Sleepy Eye High School and served in the Army following graduation.
Warren was married to Nereda Niemuth on August 3, 1963. They farmed while operating the Sleepy Eye Bus Lines for 15 years and Marti Farm Center in New Ulm for five years. He also served on various church boards and on the founding board of Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School for six years. In 1988, they moved to Alexandria, where he worked until retirement in 2010 for Overholt Insurance and RCIS as Marti Crop Insurance Agency.
Warren is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nereda; daughter, Beth (Randy) Gauger; son, Gregg (Nikki); and grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Dylan and Tatum; brothers, Ralph (Ruth), David (Nancy); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Saturday, November 10 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with the funeral following at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 805 Rosewood Lane, Alexandria.
