Edith Laird, 95, former resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Alexandrian, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Leesburg, Florida.
Edith Laird, 95, former resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Alexandrian, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Leesburg, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Madge Brooks; sister, Helen Donahue; brothers, Clarence and Howard; and husband, Carl “Kelly” Laird.
Edith was born in Moorland, Iowa and attended school in Moorland and Otho. She married Carl in 1935. They had two children and lived in Otho until moving to Fort Dodge. She worked for many years at Fort Dodge Lab and moved to Minnesota after they retired.
She is survived by a sister, Gwendlyn Eurich of Crete, NE; son, Gary (Bette) of Ocala, FL; daughter, Elaine (Marvin) Gribble of Wildwood, FL; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Otho Cemetery on Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. Following will be a time with family and friends at the Methodist Church in Otho.
Edith will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Edith was a great lady. Iam really glad I got to know her. I will always remember going to her home and playing games with her. RIP Edith you will be missed by all who knew and loved you.Belle Plaine, IA 01/13/2013 9:30 AM
