Eleanor “Pat” Wagner Bitzan, 80, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Peaceful Bliss.
Eleanor was born August 30, 1932 in Hartford, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Anna (Krielkamp) Wagner. She graduated from high school in 1951.
Eleanor was united in marriage to Leonard Bitzan on May 19, 1954. To this union, three daughters were born, Judy, June and Ellen. The girls will remember their mom as an easy-going, wonderful mom who truly loved her family. She was always punctual; supper was always at 6 p.m.
Pat loved children. There wasn’t a baby she couldn’t make smile or laugh. She loved living at the lake and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren swimming and enjoying the water. The grandchildren also enjoyed going shopping with grandma.
Pat enjoyed time spent with Leonard, either sitting in the boat reading while he would fish or flying together when he had his pilot’s license.
She spent her last few years at Peaceful Bliss with the wonderful staff and residents. Eleanor would spend her time reading, watching the birds and listening to Johnny Cash CD’s. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Judy (Harvey) Hinderschied of Alexandria, June (Randy) Mohawk of Rochester, Ellen (Tom) Hood of Osseo; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, John Wagner of Sauk Rapids; sisters, Alice Thoennes of Brandon, and Franny Foslien of Hudson, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Jim and David; and sisters, Marianne Zupan and Judy Gray.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, September 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Binsfeld officiating. Pallbearers were Michelle Bury, Damian Mohawk, Angie Douangdy, Michael Mohawk, Mariko Hood and Tom Hood. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria; www.andersonfuneral.net.
