Margaret Eunice Flynn, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Knute Nelson.
Margaret was born June 20, 1927 in Osakis to Charles and Delia (McCommas) Dailey. She attended Osakis school through the eighth grade.
Margaret married James Flynn on May 7, 1945 at United Methodist Church in Osakis. To this union the couple was blessed with seven children.
Margaret worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital in Alexandria and worked also at Herberger’s. She started working in 1977 as a cook at Lincoln Elementary School and retired in 1987.
Margaret enjoyed crocheting, watching racing, and baking. She enjoyed traveling on Amtrak and enjoyed taking a trip to San Antonio with her brother Dennis. Most of all, Margaret loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Duane Flynn of Alexandria, Karen Evavold of Alexandria, Shelbe (Randy) Baker of Nelson and Sara (Stan) Sjoman of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Judy) Dailey of Clara City and Dennis (Audrey) Dailey of Sauk Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delia; husband, James; daughter, Sharon Flynn; sons, Ronald Flynn and Michael Flynn; great-granddaughter, Kjiersten Malvin; sister, Iona Muyres; and son-in-law, Ronald Evavold.
A funeral service was held Sunday, September 9 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Art Montgomery officiating. Music was provided by organist, Becky Worley and soloist, Kim Byrne. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Margaret’s grandchildren and honorary casket bearers were her great-grandchildren.
