Joan Thornton, 75

Joan Marie Geris Thornton passed away November 23, 2011 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer.

Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 8 at 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. A luncheon will follow the funeral in the basement of St. Nicholas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
