Russell Bock, 88

Russell W. Bock, 88, Alexandria, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at Knute Nelson.

Russell was born December 8, 1923 in Leslie Township, Todd County, the son of Jacob “Jake” and Anna (Zimmel) Bock.

Russell was united in marriage on September 7, 1968 to Marie Nelson. Russell was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

Russell graduated from Osakis High School and farmed with his family following graduation. He cared for his parents until they passed away. Russell drove truck over the road for ABW, Inc., Midland, and Cenex Oil Company for several years and after retirement performed miscellaneous maintenance for several businesses.

Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; parents; four sisters, Mary Mechels, Susan Bock, Margaret Sherman and Arlene Green; and one niece, Ruth Kalstrom.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen (David) Haensel of Mackinaw, IL; son, Darrell Nelson of Alexandria; two grandchildren, Nicole (Rick) Mitok of Mackinaw, IL and Michael Haensel of Mackinaw, IL.

Russell loved to hunt, fish, bowl and dance. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 10 at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria.
