Stacha Katherine Hagen, 98, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Bethany Home in Alexandria.

Stacha Katherine Hagen, 98, died Monday, July 2, 2012 at Bethany Home in Alexandria.

Stacha was born November 14, 1913, the daughter of Thomas and Mamie (Hiebel) Landa, in Lake Reno Township. She grew up on a farm and helped her parents with the chores and cooking. She married Franklin E. Hagen on October 19, 1932. To this union two daughters were born: Rosanne, and Bonnie. Stacha and her family farmed in Pope and Douglas counties.

Stacha was active in Trinity Lutheran Church, singing in the church chorus and a member of the Ladies aid. She was also active in the Sunday School Program as a leader and teacher. Stacha enjoyed the outdoors. She liked to fish and hunt, hunting deer well into her 80s. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosanne (Lloyd) Schouweiler of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Sandra (Paul) Furst of Sartell, David (Jaynne) Schouweiler of Holmes City, Ronald Schouweiler of Owatonna; four great-grandchildren, Christina Furst, Jennifer (Keith) Whalen, Jessica Larson; and Megan Schouweiler; four great-great-grandchildren, Alexander, Karlie, Jack and Kaden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin Hagen; daughter, Bonnie Hagen; sister, Margaret Williams; and brother, Henry Landa.

A funeral service was held Thursday, July 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery near Holmes City. Casket bearers were David Schouweiler, Ron Schouweiler, Bob Friederichs, Dennis Hagen, Dick Gaffaney and Ralph Gaffaney.
