Haroldine was born August 2, 1924 in Rocky Ford, CO, the daughter of Harold and Nettie (Witt) Davis. When Haroldine was 4 years old, her family moved to Denver, CO. She graduated from high school in 1942 and immediately went to work in the defense industry. During World War II she worked at a munitions plant, packaging machine gun ammunition.

As the war was ending Haroldine was united in marriage to Manford Peck III In El Paso, Texas. They were blessed with two children, Roger and Bruce. The couple made their home in Manhattan, Kansas until 1948 when they moved to Denver. In 1951, Manford became an airline pilot and was based in Torrance, CA where he and Haroldine continued raising their family. In 1959 the family moved to Chicago, IL. After Manford’s retirement in 1977 he and Haroldine moved to Palisade, MN.

Following Manford’s death, Haroldine moved to Deerwood in 1994. As she needed more care, she moved to Alexandria, where her son Roger lived, and made her home at Nelson Gables. Most recently, Haroldine has been a resident of Knute Nelson.

Haroldine enjoyed going fishing and participating in bowling leagues. She was a whiz at playing bridge. Crocheting was one of Haroldine’s favorite pastimes. She created thousand of potholders, doilies, afghans and other crocheted pieces. Throughout most of her life she was a member of the Methodist faith. She loved spending time with children and taught Sunday school for many years. Haroldine especially loved her five grandchildren.

Her husband, Manford Peck, preceded her in death.

Haroldine is survived by her two sons, Roger Peck and wife, Gweneth, of Alexandria and Bruce Peck and wife, Charlene, of Denton, NC; grandchildren, Brian Peck, Brad Peck, Blair Peck, Laura Peck and Annika Peck; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Joe Davis and wife, Donna, of Texas; and one sister, Janice Kincaid and husband, George, of Index, WA.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, June 6 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Chaplain James Oakland officiated. Music was provided by Becky Worley and Dan and Brenda Haglin.
