Lyle Edward McClellan, 88, passed away on May 24, 2012.

Lyle was born February 16, 1924 to Edward and Elsie (Livingston) McClellan. He lived in Forada and attended school there as a boy. He enlisted in the Navy in October.

On September 24, 1946, Lyle was united in marriage to Jeanette Kasemaker in Portland, Oregon. Lyle worked as a lifeguard at city park, a turkey farm, and 34 years at Land O’ Lakes in Alexandria where he retired. His hobbies were gardening, hunting, fishing, horses and playing cards with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette; sister, Leta Cummings; and brother, Wayne McClellan.

Lyle is survived by his daughters, Patty Rosenbach, Barbara (Ken Ringler) Lolkus, Joyce (Gus) Klingbeil, Linda McClellan; son, Rodney (significant other, Marlys Botzet) McClellan; sisters, Mabel Hall of Portland, OR and Gladys (Edward) Bollen of Eugene, OR; seven grandkids, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brenden, Amber McClellan-Beliveau, and Jodie Tatro; and 16 great-grandkids.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 29 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with the Rev. David Wangaard officiating. Inurnment was held at Hudson Cemetery in Hudson Township. Military honors were provided by the Alexandria American Legion Post 87, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 936 and the Minnesota National Honor Guard. Honorary urn bearers were Lyle’s grandchildren, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brenden, Amber McClellan-Beliveau and Jodie Tatro.
