Dawn Cheryl Olson, age 56, passed away in her home in Brainerd on May 4, 2012, after her battle with cancer.

Dawn Cheryl Olson, age 56, passed away in her home in Brainerd on May 4, 2012, after her battle with cancer.

Dawn was born August 3, 1955 in Trimont to Emil and Bernice Feuerhake. She was dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont. Dawn accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 4 years old and rededicated herself to God when she was 27 years old.

In 1962, Dawn and her parents moved to Brooten and then to Glenwood in 1963. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1973.

Dawn attended evangelical churches in the Glenwood and Alexandria area. She was the mother of two sons and one daughter and grandmother of two grandsons. She worked as a crisis counselor at the Women’s Crisis Center in Alexandria for 10 years. She also enjoyed working as a shuttle transporter from Alexandria to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport for three years.

Dawn is survived by her sons, Sean and Chad (Megan) Thompson; daughter, Kristin (Shane) Bertrand; grandsons, Devin Dowell and Emmet Thompson; brother, Dennis Feuerhake; sister, Karen (Gary) Eakin; niece, Debbie (Mark) Vallenvand; nephew, Joe Feuerhake; and friend, Terry Nix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, Steven Feuerhake.

A graveside memorial service to celebrate the life of Dawn Cheryl Olson was held at Geneva Cemetery in Alexandria.
