Doris was born September 29, 1912 in Alexandria, the daughter of John and Agnes Zilker. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. She attended District #24 Country School through the 8th grade.
Doris was united in marriage to Rudolph Zeithamer on January 16, 1931. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Lake Mary Township where they raised their five children. In 1969, Rudolph died and in the fall, Doris moved to Holmes City.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting, sewing and canning. She was a caring person who was always there for her family and ready to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her five children, Dorothy (Raymond) Trousil of Alexandria, Ruth Krause of Parkers Prairie, Rudy of Lake Mary Township, Kenneth (Arlene) of Farwell, Richard (Sonja) of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; granddaughter, Heidi; sister, Betty; daughter-in-law, Shirley; and son-in-law, Lawrence Krause.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Burial was at Bohemian Independent Cemetery in Lake Mary Township. Pallbearers were Kenny Zeithamer Jr., Steven Zeithamer, John Zeithamer, Roy Zeithamer, Ronny Zeithamer, Randy Zeithamer, Loren Krause, Larry Krause and Leon Krause.
