Mayme was born September 14, 1923 in Lake Mary Township, Douglas County, to John and Barbara (Koubsky) Dynda. She attended District 13 country school in Lake Mary Township through the eighth grade.
Mayme was united in marriage to Ralph Engelbrecht on July 7, 1942 at the Hostess House in Alexandria. The couple farmed in Lake Mary Township and was blessed with two children, Phyllis and Warren. She continued to live on the farm until a year ago when she moved into Knute Nelson.
Mayme was a member of the Forada Seniors Club. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making kolaches, pies, raisin cookies and made a wonderful potato salad. She also enjoyed playing games, bingo and many different card games. Most important to Mayme were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
