Krista Stock, 32

Krista Lynn Stock, 32, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Krista was born December 19, 1979 in Alexandria, the daughter of Colleen Thompson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1998 and continued her education at the College of St. Benedict, graduating in 2002 with a degree in psychology. Krista was planning to attend St. Catherine University this fall in the field of physical therapy assistant.

Krista met Jeremy James Stock, the love of her life, on an August summer evening in Alexandria. They dated for six years and were united in marriage on November 15, 2003 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Together with their loving pet dog Jackson, they currently made their home in St. Paul.

Krista had a love for working with wine. She started her taste for wine while she was working at 6th Avenue Wine and Ale in Alexandria. Here she fell in love with all things wine. After moving to Maplewood in 2008, she went back to school to earn a Certified Wine Professional Degree. She then began to work at Urban Olive and Vine in Hudson, Wisconsin. Her enjoyment and enthusiasm of working in the wine industry continued after moving to Phoenix, Arizona, where she managed a wine bar at Su Vino Winery in Scottsdale, Arizona. This allowed her to enjoy many wonderful glasses of wine with family and friends.

Krista was a beautiful young woman who was full of life. She was the voice of reason to her friends and their biggest cheerleader at the same time. Along with her fabulous laugh was her collection of fabulous shoes, jewelry and purses. She was a loving and caring wife, daughter, and friend to many, who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeremy Stock of St. Paul; mother, Colleen Thompson of Minnetonka; mother-in-law, Sharon Stock of Morris; father-in-law, James Stock of rural Morris; uncle and aunts, Scott (Pam) Giroux of Alexandria and Polly Giroux of St. Cloud; cousins, Michael Cunningham, Colleen Orne, David Klein, Samantha Klein, Casey Haraldson, Walker Giroux, Parker Giroux, Dillon Giroux and Marie Giroux; sisters-in-law, Becky Stock, Christina Stock, Trista Stock; and nephew, Jaden Stock.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vincent and Lucille Giroux; uncles, Douglas, Larry and Chad; and a cousin, Kristine Cunningham Rose.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, April 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Steve Binsfeld officiating. Interment was at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Dumont. Casket bearers were Michelle Hemming, Amanda Lorenz, Katie Janke, Cassie Wyzykowski, Chris Folkert and Richie Mohrland.
