Charles “Bud” Gawthrop, 67, passed away on April 4, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio after a year-long struggle with leukemia.

Charles “Bud” Gawthrop, 67, passed away on April 4, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio after a year-long struggle with leukemia.

He was born to Thelma and Dudley Gawthrop on December 7, 1944 in Alexandria. He grew up in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962. During the Vietnam War, Bud served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley; and his sister, Jackie.

Bud is survived by his wife, Vickie; sons, Garron and Bryan; daughter, Lauren; and grandson, Gabe, of Cincinnati; mother, Thelma Gawthrop; sister, Delores Martin; brothers, Rick of Alexandria and Bill of Lino Lakes; niece, Debra Samples of Alexandria; nephew, Nate Ofstedal of Omaha, Nebraska.

Buddie will be greatly missed by all of his friends; and he had many.

Family services will be held in Cincinnati.

Gawthrop Family - May it comfort you to know that your loved one is safe in God's care now... And that friends are praying for you in your time of sorrow. Delores was a very good friend to me in High School. (Central High - Class of '58) Frank Brundell Spokane, WA.
