Robert A. DeBettignies, age 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 20, 2012.
Robert A. DeBettignies, age 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 20, 2012.
He is survived by wife, Ione; sons, Mike of Alexandria and Paul of Minneapolis; brothers, Dick (Gail) DeBettignies and Ron (Gini) DeBettignies of Apple Valley; sister, Linda (Dick) Bresser of Elko; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Florence DeBettignies and sister, Ruth.
Bob donated his body to the University of Minnesota Medical Research program.
He grew up in Canby and lived on a farm near Porter. Later on he lived in Richfield and Miltona before going to Nelson Gables the last years.
He loved fishing, all sports, but he was especially passionate about the Gophers, morning coffee at Miltona Grocery, playing cards and bingo.
A memorial service will be held for Bob on Monday, February 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Nelson Gables in Alexandria.
