Dagmar H. Foslien, 93, Alexandria, died February 22, 2012 at Peaceful Bliss Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Garfield.

Visitation is Friday, February 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria; www.andersonfuneral.net.

Mrs Foslien ("teacher" was how I remember her) was one of the most influential persons in my life. She was my teacher for 7 years at Pocket Lake school and I frequently recall her commitmant to the arts and music along with a first rate education in the three "r's". When Halloween or Christmas came along she always had us involved with a play or musical with home made instruments and the old stand by "flutephon" I will never forget the day President Kennedy was shot as she stopped all her lessons and turned on the little portable radio she had for all of us to listen as the tragedy unfolded. She instilled in each of us a respect for education and respect for each other. She was a true inspiration and "legend" among our family. Teacher, you will be forever with me. Ray Bullick
