Delbert Krueger, 81

Delbert William Krueger was born May 8, 1930 in Leaf Valley, the son of William and Ernestine (Wussow) Krueger. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley and went to Leaf Valley Country School.

On September 5, 1959, Delbert was united in marriage to Leola Zarn at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. The couple lived on the family farm and raised their family of four children there. Delbert’s dad had farmed this land and his son, Willis, continues to farm it today. During this time, Delbert and Leola were members of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and Delbert was a member of the Men’s Club.

The couple moved off of the farm and into Alexandria in 2005. Delbert moved into Bethany Home in June of 2006. He continued to live there until he was transferred to St. Cloud Hospital, where he died on Monday, December 12, 2011, at the age of 81.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Leola Krueger of Alexandria; children, Wayne Krueger of Alexandria, Willis (Mary) Krueger of Alexandria, Wendy Fridgen of Alexandria and Wanda Krueger of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jason Krueger, Tyler Krueger, Heidi Krueger, Jared Fridgen and Jordan Fridgen; as well as brothers, Palmer Krueger of Garfield and Alvin Krueger of Alexandria; and sister, Margine Norling of Garfield.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darlene.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 15 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley with the Rev. Dennis Angland officiating. Music was provided by Kristi Wussow, organist, and vocalists Sharon Lindemann and Andrea Olson. Interment was at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery with Curtis Krueger, Jason Krueger, Tyler Krueger, Heidi Krueger, Jared Fridgen and Jordan Fridgen serving as pallbearers.
