Angeline “Angie” Stephonie (Larson) Carlson, 94, Parkers Prairie, died August 22, 2011 at St. William’s Living Center in Parkers Prairie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26 at 11 a.m., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie with the Rev. Jonathan Sorum officiating. Music will be provided by Kim Byrne. Burial will be at Parkers Prairie Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Angie was born March 9, 1917 to Stephen and Mary (Kostahris) Hosna at Adams, North Dakota. They later moved to Forest River, ND and then to Henning, Minnesota where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Leonard E. Larson Sr. on July 3, 1935. To this union three children were born, Marion, Leonard Jr. and Thomas.
They dairy farmed north of Parkers Prairie where they sold bottled milk and cream for quite a few years. She also worked for the Parkers Bakery and St. William’s Living Center.
On April 27, 1984, Angie was united in marriage to Chris L. Carlson. They had such good companionship together and traveled quite a lot as they both enjoyed traveling. They spent their last 10 winters in the Rio Grand Valley in Texas.
Angie was an active church member and attended regularly. She was a member of the E.L.C.A., Esther Circle and choir member for many years. She was a member of the Degree of Honor Protective Association for more than 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, ceramics and making afghans for her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her role of being a grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Larson of Rouzerville, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Leota Larson of Dexter, Missouri; three granddaughters, Vicki (Joe) Schnitzler of Danvers, Laurie (Joe) Morris of Madison, Virginia and Ramona (Chris) Lemons of Dexter, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Sara (Mike) Arrington, Katie (Shawn Bachman) Schnitzler , Chap Morris, Amy (Mark) Arrington, Doug Lemons and Jessica (fiance, Michael Lambert) Lemons; three great-great-grandchildren, John, Taylor and Pace; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leonard E. Larson Sr. and Chris L. Carlson; son, Leonard Jr.; daughter, Marion Lindsey; and her nine siblings.
Pallbearers will be Joe Schnitzler, Mike McGee, Lloyd Lindsey, Shawn Bachman, Terry Carlson and Kevin Carlson.
Arrangements are with Lind Family Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie.
