Dennis “Putsy” Darell Muzik was born February 28, 1938 in Alexandria to John and Alvina (Johnson) Muzik. Dennis graduated from Central High School and then began to work in construction. He became a crane operator for Schroeder Construction and helped build bridges all over Minnesota for many years. He also worked with Eblen Construction, operating heavy equipment and with Donnelly Manufacturing as a supervisor, until his retirement.
Dennis married Linda Beard in 1967 and to this union two daughters were born, Billie and Shelia. On May 29, 1979, Dennis was united in marriage to Margaret Heuer and they had one daughter, Jackie. They made their home near Forada, where Dennis liked to tend his large vegetable garden. He enjoyed his friendly competition with his neighbor on who had the first tulips and picked the asparagus first.
Dennis was an all-around outdoorsman. He hunted ducks, deer, and trapped minks and muskrats for their fur. He also made annual hunting trips to Baudette with family and friends. He also loved fishing from a boat or ice. When his grandchildren would visit, a few hours of fishing with them was usually done. While he loved to eat fish and venison, Dennis had a sweet tooth and his favorite candy bar was the Nut Goodie.
Dennis was a colorful guy and enjoyed a good prank every once in awhile. He liked visiting with his friends at the Muddy Boot in Forada and telling stories. Dennis was a stubborn man with a huge heart who never wanted his children to worry about him. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
